The what and why

Water in South Australia is chemically treated to kill bacteria and keep it safe to drink, but this can leave a chemical taste and smell in the water that enters your home.

Whole-house water filtration systems are installed where the mains water enters your property. It removes sediment, dirt and chemicals before it enters your home, so every tap, shower and appliance in the home gets clean, filtered water.

Much of South Australia's water is also high in calcium and magnesium, which causes scale build-up and water stains throughout your home.

A water softener removes these minerals. This reduces scale, helps your appliances last longer and keeps your glassware and shower screens clearer.

Together, filtering and softening your water ensure the water is gentler on your hair and skin. Softening removes the minerals that leave soap residue behind, and filtration removes the chlorine that strips natural oils.
